About Us
Gifts for Teens and our community volunteers provide support for homeless and low income local teenagers by giving holiday gift bags full of useful and fun items.
Dedicated volunteers work all year to complete the program, creating brimming holiday gift bags for under-served foster care and poor youth.
Gifts for Teens’ sponsoring organization is AAUW San José, where it first began in 1997. AAUW SJ members continue to dedicate significant time, talent, and resources to annual Gifts for Teen campaigns.
AAUW San José is the local branch of a national organization founded in 1881 by women who defied society’s conventions by earning college degrees. Ever since, the American Association of University Women (AAUW) has worked to advance gender equity through education and advocacy.
